Passion Vs. Profit

Thanks to a thread at the warrior forum<Clicky>, I’ve been contemplating the place passion has is your marketing business. The oft repeated debate goes something like:

Person 1: Build your business around your hobbies and interests-your passions will drive your business!

Person 2: Look for viable markets chock full of customers. Sell things to these customers! Read more »

Short Term Vs. Long Term Thinking

There is an interesting discussion going on over at the warrior forum-here-about a technique that is normally taught to new affiliate marketers, and its viability. In a nut shell, the OP is wondering why so many people do single page blogs(presumably free), and aim articles at them, instead of building larger and(presumably) more effective virtual real estate.

It’s a good question, and despite which side of the business model you fall on, it’s worth considering all the answers. Read more »

Article Marketing Challenge, Day 3

So it’s day three for Tiffany Dow’s Article Challenge over at the warrior forum. Today I submitted my third article, and I’m waiting as patiently as possible for my first article to be approved. I had two articles on that account get approved today, so with any luck EZA will keep pushing forward.

I didn’t do anything with the lens I created for the challenge. It’s gotten a few visitors, and it looks like I’ve had a few people click through to the sales page for The Niche Blogger, but so far no sales. If EZA cooperates, I should see some steady traffic going through that particular funnel within a week. I’ll keep updating.

The Article Marketing Challenge-Day 1

Yesterday I mentioned that Tiffany Dow was running a thirty day article marketing challenge over at the warrior forum. Today is day one, so here are my moves so far. I decided to use the challenge to promote The Niche Blogger program that I’m taking part in. I did some keyword research with the theme of making money by blogging, and suprisingly I found some keywords that had some searches but weren’t very competitive. Not hundreds of thousand of searches, but hundreds and thousands-good enough for me.

I’m using a squidoo lens as my landing page, which is here. I submitted my first article to EZA today-hopefully it won’t take me to long to get approved. I’m not going to promote the lens except for the articles(and the single link I put here), at least until the challenge is over. I will, however, use some social bookmarking on the articles themselves.

I’ll keep you all posted.

I’m About to Try Something New

How many of you have read Chris Rempel’s “Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate?” It details Chris’ strategy to pull a ton of traffic to his niche affiliate sites. I read it a while back, but never tried the techniques he outlines. I think I’m going to start a project using his method(maybe as a case study here), Nd I was hoping for some input or words of wisdom from someone who has tried it.

If you haven’t read it, you should-Chris is well known to be very successful, and one of the good guys. He posts at the warrior forum sometimes, and gives up a lot of great info when he does. Hell, his sales letter is worth reading-he spills a lot of his strategy in it. It’s also a little different than the average IM salesletter, which makes it worth checking out for your swipe file.

Seriously, check out the sales letter, and if it’s time to add a new strategy to your business go ahead and get the book. Check it out here.

Old Fashioned, Hand Crafted SEO Services

When developing a linking strategy-and you do have a strategy, right?-you want to make sure the growth of your backlinks is as natural as possible. You can’t add hundreds of backlinks at once, nor do you want the exact same tags and title information-this can be a red flag for the big G that you are trying to game the system.  When you outsource this type of work, you want to make sure the submissions are manual-no bulk submitting software. You also want to make sure that the service is a rolling submission service…the submissions need to be done over a period of time to mimic natural growth. I’ve seen ads for this type of work, where the service provider uses the their short turnaround time as a selling point-big mistake! You really don’t want 1000 directory submissions in 48 hours!.

As you’ve probably guessed by now….

I’ve recently decided to offer a limited directory submission service to help out other marketers. All URLs will be manually submitted to 400+ free directories, ranging from PR 0 to PR 6. I will submit with up to 10 different titles and tags, and will rotate them randomly during the submission process.

To keep the link building  process looking natural and organic, the submissions will take place over two months, with you receiving an excel spreadsheet every two weeks detailing the previous batch of submissions.

This will be a limited offer-manual submissions take time, so I can only take a limited number of clients on at any one time.

The fee is a single payment of $75.00. I’ve researched the competition, and this is a rock bottom price for a rolling submission service.  I will not keep it this low for very long!

To get started, simply send payment via paypal to kevin(dot)hope(at)yahoo(dot)com. Then email me at the same address with

  • Your Receipt number
  • Your URL
  • Up to 10 titles(no more then 100 characters each),
  • Up to 10 descriptions
  • Your Name and Email
  • Your Keywords
  • Suggested Categories

And we can get started. I’m looking forward to developing some solid working relationships out of this.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at the above yahoo address.

Apparently, Taking Action is The Key

There was a discussion started on my favorite marketing forum about how the key to IM success is to take action. Whenever I hear this statement, and I hear it a lot, my first instinct is to agree. I do think that one of  the major stepping stones between people and success is the ability to get started. But is it the main thing? Read more »

Free Business Idea

I’ve put together a gift for you. I got permission to give away a report by John and Matt Rhodes that details a business model that they have used successfully. I’ve gotten reports like this from them before, and I can attest to the quality of their information.

I actually believe that the first WSO I ever bought was by Matt. It was a pretty simple plan, and it worked…in fact it still works. There are things in internet marketing that change, and you of course need to keep up with those changes. But fundamental marketing skills will always be the backbone of any business. And that is exactly what John and Matt offer.

If you have some time to investigate a simple business model(that you most likely ALREADY have the resources for gathering iDust on your hardrive), AND the commitment to take action on it if it appeals to you, I invite you to grab a copy here. If you don’t have time to work something new into your business strategy, please hold off on it-stay organized and focused on what is working for you.

Eventually it will be a good time to diversify, and you can grab your copy of the report right here.

Let me know what you think.

Free Business Model

Sometimes it smacks you right in the face.

Yesterday I was going through some ebooks and courses I have on my hard drive. I came across one I bought earlier this year, coincidentally was about the very topic that’s been on my mind recently-thinking strategically in internet marketing. Having a system in place to get from point A to point B.

I really think it’s the lack of systems that has kept me from taking my business to the next level. I have done a bit of this, a bit of that-with various products that have caught my eye for one reason or another. Luckily, by keeping this in mind, I have managed to not overspend on WSO’s or other products lately. There is one in particular, a niche research tool, that looks great and is recommended by people I trust and respect. But I’m not getting it until I start researching again. Even if that means I pay more. I currently have a few active projects, including the niche blogging course I mentioned in my last post. I’m going to focus strictly on them for right now. Luckily, the blogging course is very structured, so I am following a proven system there.

Another one of my projects is a membership site I’m taking part in-I get 5 niches a month complete with PLR articles and ads. It is also very stuctured-I print off a checklist for each niche that I get, with daily and weekly tasks to be accomplished. I’ll post more about this site soon.

Looking at your online projects in a systematic way is, I believe, the key to success. Take a look at what you need to do and make a plan. If it helps, write a checklist to follow-I write down every blog I want to post to on any given day.

If you want to take a look at the book that spawned this little rant, you can find it right here. It’s super cheap, the upsell is cheap and VERY worth it. Pay close attention to the whole process on that site.

The Niche Blogger

I’ve recently joined a memberhip site called The Niche Blogger. I felt I needed to gain some structure to my online business activities, and I thought that following this course would help me.

The course is taking the form of a blog, and the owner, Amy Bass, is doing daily posts to show the exact steps she took to built a 5000/dollar a month income from niche blogs.  She started in an effort to develop an income that would completely pay off her families large debt load in two years. She is, I believe, one year in-and she is VERY on track to get it done. Thats just the kind of person that should be listened to.

Because the site just started, she has only covered the basics of blog set up so far-she is doing it this way to make sure the most internet unsavvy people can follow along successfully. Although this is material I’m familiar with, I have already learned some things-Amy is VERY detail oriented, and has a very easy going style of teaching. I believe that I can duplicate her success by following along with her at The Niche Blogger.

Another benefit is that Amy is pretty hands on-she posts new lessons daily, and answers questions on the blog or in the forum very quickly. She is definately committed to the success of The Niche Blogger students.

For what she is offering, the course is extremely affordable. She is limiting the number of students at any one time to enable that personal attention, but there are still spaces available. If you’ve been struggling to find a systematic approach to making money by blogging, I encourage you to check it out here.

If you join, my forum user name is Kevin-say hello, and I’ll do what I can to help you along.

Whether you decide to join or not, keep checking in-I’ll be posting my progress as I go.

So It’s Been Awhile….

Since I’ve posted here. This blog is sort of a sideline, I’ve been busy with online projects as well as offline businesses. But I am back, and I’m going to try to keep up to date here. There are a few new projects of note that I’ll be posting about shortly. I’m putting some finishing touches on an ebook for a small niche I’m in, and there are some other projects/trainings/business models I’ve recently begun. More soon.
